ARTDESK:
Duchampion
After some considerable help from Åke Bonnier, the only Duchamp-collecting bishop in the world, Moderna Museet has a brand new permanent Duchamp collection.
The pieces are currently on display in two rooms at the museum. Many of them are replicas which were physically realized by Swede Ulf Linde, but approved by Duchamp to be listed as his work.
One of the highlights is two huge glass pieces, one made by Duchamp and the second by the relentless Linde in the 1990s to make sure that it was perfect. Rumour has it that, had he lived, Linde would have made another one, all in the name of striving for perfection.
