Index Foundation 40 years

099

The Index foundation is celebrating 40 years by sprucing itself up, renovating its space and updating its graphic profile. Starting out in 1975 as Fotograficentrum, it has since developed into a strong player on the Scandiavian contemporary art scene. As another part of the anniversary spruce-up, they are focusing on events and readings, and a large auction at Café Opera (viewings at Belenius/Nordenhake, May 18th-20th) will form part of the birthday celebrations.

If you miss it, you can still check out the new space with an expanded exhibition area and another room for the educational programs, designed by the Berlin based Kooperative für Darstellungspolitik, at Kungsbro Strand 19 on Kungsholmen.

The current show featuring Dutch artist Willem de Rooij – his first solo show in Sweden – goes on all spring. Check out the hidden pearl for an edgy international contemporary art vibe that reminds you of Berlin or New York, right here in the middle of Stockholm.
