Untitled Horrors

Cindy-Sherman-Untitled

Even the regular Joe who’s not particularly interested in modern art probably knows about Cindy Sherman, the American artist who’s made a name for herself by taking photos of herself, masked in different faces and costumes. It’s easy to connect with her photos, all of which circle around the same subject: her own face. She’s the model, the artist and the photographer, constantly discussing her own identity versus the world around her. Masks and makeup make us wonder what it is like to be “you”, and remind us of how easy it is to be perceived as someone else. Or are we maybe all the same?
Ponder the big questions at Moderna until late January. Don’t miss!

Cindy Sherman – Untitled Horrors is on display until January 19 at Moderna Museet.
