Marabouparken’s new exhibition On Invasive Grounds is a closer look on the idea that the planet’s normal state is harmony and balance. Do we, as humans, have to try to keep nature stable? In this exhibition, the artist Katja Aglert asks us difficult questions about what nature is, and what is ”natural.”

Along with the show, there is a book launch for Winter Event – antifreeze, a new tome on art and theory written and published by editors Katja Aglert and Stefanie Hessler. One of the main contributors, American feminist researcher Lisa Bloom, will take part and give a talk about her ongoing project Climate Change and Contemporary Art of the Polar Regions: Gender after Ice. But that’s not the only international visit at Marabouparken this spring. British culture studies professor George McKay will also visit at the end of April, giving a lecture (in English) about his book Radical Gardening: Politics, Idealism and Rebellion in the Garden, about how gardens and parks have been a meeting place for alternative, radical cultures and political activism.

On invasive grounds by Katja Aglert is on display at Marabou Konsthall until June 19.
Winter Event – antifreeze book release Thursday April 3 @ 6 pm (talk in English)
Radical Gardening talk, Wednesday April 23 @ 6pm
