Stockholms Culture Night or Kulturnatt is the night when the cultural institutions of the city come together to create a special and unforgettable experience. All with free admission!

Boat rides around the archipelago, exhibitions, dancing, mingling and live music are on the menu. All in all, close to 85 art galleries, clubs, museums, theatres and a number of other participants extend an invitation to more than 100 events taking place in one night.

Although Kulturnatt was founded just three years ago, the event has grown enormously in this short time, going from 6,000 to 95,000 visitors and taking a firm position on Stockholm’s cultural calendar.

“It already feels like an established concept that Stockholmers have embraced,” says project leader Sara Thorstensson.

“It was about time we got a culture night like many other European capitals. Stockholm is a strong cultural city and it feels great that we can showcase such wide variety. There is something for everyone, even those that don’t think culture is something for them.

“We have everything from video games to the Royal Opera, dirty talks, secret rooms, styling tips, workshops in different areas and of course a lot of concerts and exhibitions.”

“We have several new players this year and a very diverse program. One of the highlights this year is of course the after-party at City Hall. It’s not every day that anyone can mingle freely in the Blue Hall and the Gold Hall to live music and DJs, with free admission as well!”
