While the folks over at Tensta Konsthall are presenting feminist magazines, a similar thing is happening at Moderna Museet – where you can find Herr Aldman – Superhero av världsalltet, a piece of radical comic book history.

During the summer and some of the fall, the Moment space at Moderna is hosting an exhibition of Lena Svedberg’s work. Svedberg passed away only 26 years old, but until then she became well known for her work with the satirical magazine Puss. But, she also worked on a larger piece: Herr Aldman that she made for the Paris Biennale in 1969. Moderna Museet bought it straight after the show. The piece is now shown for the first time in 40 years, and in connection to that it is also published as a book, by comic book publisher Galago. Herr Aldman is a discussion of the political situation in the world –  with a focus on the Middle East – in the shape of a comic book. Noam Chomsky meets the Bible, oil politics and cultural history. Come see more at Moderna this summer.
