In a very hectic month of October for stand up comedy in Stockholm one of the prominent guests are Pam Ann. Probably the world’s most famous air hostess.

We asked her a few quick questions ahead of her return to Stockholm. It seems she’s not that fond of some outspoken male comedians.

Will the number of jokes about the flight industry ever dry out?

No, but I don’t only talk about airlines I talk about cultures topical news, pop culture and observations on day-to-day life.

You have been performing in Stockholm before, in case you can remember, how is the Stockholm audience compared to other places?

Great fun I love the Swedish they are always up for a laugh. They are one of my favourite audiences in the world.

Do you have to alter your act depending on what crowd, nationality, you are performing for?

Yeah, I tailor my show from country to country.

So I suppose Heidi from SAS gets an outing in Stockholm?

No, not really but I will talk about SAS crew most definitely.

What happens when you fly yourself, do you ever have funny reactions from staff when you are flying?

I always leave with a bottle of something. Being Pam Ann helps my travel experience.

You have been playing the same character for years and years, have you gone through periods when you, perhaps for different reasons, have been close to move on to something else?

Never!

How would you say Pam Ann has changed and evolved over time?

She has become more ferocious and worldly.

And if she’s still around in ten years how would you think her mood would be?

She will be more of a cunt.

What are the benefits of being in the mile high club?

Free sex.

You have described yourself as a walking encyclopedia of airline facts. What incredible fact do we most certainly not know?

Planes crash and people die.

What makes yourself laugh uncontrollably.

Male comedians saying female comedians aren’t funny.

Yeah I know you are familiar with RAW-gate in Stockholm earlier this year where a male comedian and club promoter in Stockholm stated ”Why book female comedians when no one wants to see them?” Is stand-up a hard environment for women and what change would you like to see from the industry?

Yes, I well remember the story about Karin Adelsköld and I showed my support to her and other female comedians. The industry can be hard on women, just because men are just insecure and can’t handle an aggressive powerful funny woman. The thing is that some of the funniest comedy in the world is written and performed by women.

Pam Ann performs at Södra Teatern Oct 12
