By linking together different artistic voices that refer to each other through overlapping questions, focus and worlds of ideas, the new Liaison festival will be an event that ignores the traditional boundaries as dance, music, film and performance art will merge at Kulturhuset during four nights in early April. The concept is that the festival is not comprised of standalone work, but different artistic pieces that are all linked together, as choreographer Jefta van Dinther, who is behind the idea, explains. “We want to create a universe where the works are allowed to be there for each other. That’s where the word ‘liaison’ comes into the equation.”
The starting point for the project is This is Concrete, a work created by Van Dinther and dancer Thiago Granato. Among the other names involved in this first instalment of what is hoped to become a regular fixture is Myriam Van Imschoot, Playdead, Tian Rotteveel, Cullbergbaletten and Robyn, who will perform new music that will challenge the concert format with a repetitive act that loses itself in words and sounds.
Liaison takes place during April 9-12 at Kulturhuset
