Theatre Highlight:
Markisinnan de Sade (Madame de Sade)
To mark the re-opening of the Elverket stage – and possibly the 200-year anniversary of Marquis de Sade’s death, Dramaten serves up a new version of Madame de Sade – a play about hypocrisy, social norms, morals, passion and the decline of an aristocracy.
The play is written by acclaimed but controversial Japanese writer Yukio Mishima who ended his life in a ritual suicide after a failed coup d’etat and here we’ll see an all star six-women cast including Marie Bonnevie, Livia Millhagen and Marie Göranzon.
Markisinnan de Sade opens on Feb 14
