ART & EXHIBITIONS: YAYOI KUSAMA
Arkitektur och Designcentrum and Moderna Museet have come together for exhibitions of the work of Japanese sculptor, painter and all-round artist Yayoi Kusama. Kusama, active since the 60s, is established as one of the most notable artists around and this is the first major retrospective on her work in Scandinavia.

Stockholm label Hybris’ latest stars are Wy, and their debut single ‘In Bloom’ is the kind of song you can spend hours thinking about, tracing the musical ancestry of its fragile, atmospheric rock back to the likes of My Bloody Valentine and Beach House. They play live at Bar Brooklyn on Saturday, with DJs from Hybris keeping the party going till 3.
CLUBBING: FRESH: THE 90S
Lottarox takes things back to two decades ago with the return of its 90s club night for the last time this summer. There’ll be plenty of grunge, hip-hop, 90s rap, Britpop and pop, and you can request your own favourite tunes from the 90s era. It’s free until 23 and there will be free glowsticks for the early arrivers.
CLASSICAL: SUPERTRION
This summer, as Konserthuset takes a break from its regular schedule, the foyer will play host to concerts by some of the up-and-coming talents in classical music. This Friday features performances by Supertrion, who despite their name are a quartet of young musicians from Södra Latin’s gymnasium. Swing by to catch the next generation of Konserthuset stars.

THEATRE: KARLSSON PÅ TAKET
Karlsson På Taket is Astrid Lindgren’s iconic tale of the adventures of the portly, jolly, flying Karlsson and Lillebror. This Dramaten adaption sees Krister Henriksson and comic Nour El Refai take the lead roles as Karlsson and Lillebror and is directed by Alexander Öberg, who will bring the magic of Karlsson back to life for a new generation.

COMEDY: HOW TO BECOME SWEDISH IN 60 MINUTES
The stereotypes foreigners have about Swedes are generally junk opinions, usually boiling down to some kind of muttering about Swedes being ‘reserved’ or ‘anti-social’ because they don’t say hello to strangers in lifts or something (side-note: Swedes are 100 percent right on this issue, saying hello to strangers in lifts is the action of an unhinged sociopath).
How To Become Swedish In 60 Minutes will hopefully take a more nuanced view on cultural actions and attitudes. The show is an observational comedy based on its Icelandic predecessor How To Become Icelandic In 60 Minutes, which was a smash hit in Reykjavik in 2012. Director and performer Bjarni Thorsson aims to show foreigners how to transform themselves into someone so flawlessly Swedish that they might well have conceived in an IKEA. It runs at Kulturhuset all through July.
