Beautiful Handiwork
Elegant yet modest, with gastronomy, an atmosphere and a décor that bears the stamp of passion and authenticity. That, in short, is how restaurant Hantverket, which means ‘the handicraft’ in Swedish, describes its aim in a single sentence.
Owner Torbjörn Blomqvist started out as a woodwork teacher before going on to establish interior design firm Svensk Inredning, and finally owning and managing a few castles in and around the city via restaurant and hospitality group Stockholm Meeting Selection. Staying true to his roots, his latest venture is a place where “handiwork is at the core” of the business.
Chef Fredrik Persson, who’s made it to the semi-finals in the Swedish championship in professional cooking, is behind the menu of simple, rustic yet elegant Swedish dishes that are influenced by Europe.
