Sweden’s about to see the opening of its first ever wine-oriented hotel. Located in Solna in the outskirts of town, The Winery Hotel is set to open in January 2016.

Taking its inspiration from Tuscany’s vineyards as well as Brooklyn’s raw, industrial spaces, the 184-room property will focus on viticulture throughout its entire operation. After sourcing grapes from the Terranos vineyard in Tuscany, the crops will be brought in to be vinified on site – a process which hotel and restaurant guests will be able to follow.

The restaurant team consists of sommelier and wine writer Michel Jamais and head chef Markus Gustafsson, the latter bringing with him experience from restaurants Miss Voon and Smak.
