Concrete dining
Södermalmsallén 36–38 | usine.se
We can’t quite get over the fact that 48 tons of concrete have been used for the new interior of Usine, a stunning restaurant designed by Swedish designer Richard Lindvall. The 2,000 square meter space includes a restaurant (Bistro 38), a bar (Poche 36), a café, a take-away counter, a reception and conference centre and it also doubles as a gallery space curated by photographer Dennis Blomberg. The concept and its execution offer quite a shake-up to the Stockholm restaurant scene.
The three restaurateurs behind the project, Tim Karlsson, Michael Andreasson, have decided on a menu which will have the flavour of a multinational bistro, with dishes such as bouillabaisse, BLT and risotto taking pride of place..
