Everyone has a story. Unfortunately many of the best stories never get told. Tempo, Sweden’s largest documentary festival, aims to change all that. And you have the opportunity to take part.

Tempo takes place at Victoria and Bio Rio in Stockholm from  5-10 March. This year’s theme – Speak your mind – is focusing on freedom of expression.

The unique event will feature a range of documentaries as well as seminars, photography exhibitions, and director’s visits. Attendees will also be able to avail of a five-day crash course in documentary production. Their creations will be shown at a special screening at the end of the festival week.

Among the highlights of the festival is a screening of the Oscar winning documentary Searching for Sugarman. The film’s director Malik Bendjelloul will visit the event on March 7 at Victoria to answer questions from fans.

Premiering at the festival is the Iranian film Going up the stairs and the Czech documentary Fortress.

A festival pass costs 400sek but various combinations of tickets are available. More info here.
