Food in Transit

Posted September 11, 2014 in Food & Drink

A dry panini sandwich or a grease-dripping pizza slice as your only options will soon be a thing of the culinary past at Stockholm Central Station, as Svenska Brasserier, creators of restaurants such as Sturehof, Riche and Taverna Brillo, open a new venue adjacent to the main hall.

Inspired by first-class establishments such as Le Train Bleu at Gare du Lyon in Paris and the Oyster Bar at Grand Central Station in New York – both located in the highly demanding thoroughfare settings – Luzette will be a place for indulgence and opulence.

The 1871 space is listed and will therefore stay intact. Designer Jonas Bohlin is the man behind the interior, which will feature mainly Swedish materials such as limestone, granite and brass. Chefs Victor Lagerstedt and Tommy Myllymäki – winner of the Bocus d’Or earlier this year – have pinned down a menu that will feature both classics and new creations, and a rotisserie device is installed as a main feature in the kitchen. Luzette is set to open in September.
