Strömkajen has gone through a major facelift over the winter and now the construction work is finally finished, the promenade has been opened to the public again.
Grand Hôtel has opened a new café right on the quay, complete with stunning views of the Royal Castle. The building itself, designed by Stockholm-based Marge architects, is one in a family of three new, brass-clad structures on Strömkajen. Mint green, pink and sky blue parasols give the café a lazy summer feel.
The menu features breakfast, lunch and coffee, as well as take-away food for those who prefer picking up a shrimp sandwich or a smoked salmon salad and heading for a picnic on nearby Skeppsholmen.
