Things are happening in Melt’s old locale on Hökensgata. The boys at acclaimed microbrewery Omnipollo are transforming the space into a brand new brew bar, focusing on their own assortment of beers. The project is being done in collaboration with hipster pizzeria Pizza Hatt, so pizzas baked in a wood-fired oven will be matched with the local brews.
“I’ve worked with beer for about ten years and it’s been interesting to see the rapid pace of new microbreweries in the US,” says Henok Fentie, one of the people behind Omnipollo. “Over there, this type of local beer brewing has been going on for 20 years and is past being a trend – it’s just the way it is. I think we can get a glimpse into the future of beer-drinking in Sweden by looking at the microbrewery evolution there. You can see that people are drinking much better beer in Stockholm now.”
Omnipollo’s bar will open in early April
