Across the road from the old offices of our sister magazine Totally Dublin, you will find what was one of the best pubs in the Irish capital. It was called The Bernard Shaw and was named after Irish Nobel prize winner George Bernard Shaw, the man behind the wonderful comedy Candida that had its original premiere in London 1903.

Candida centres around a socialist pastor, living blissfully in the knowledge that his marriage is stable and happy. But after he rescues a young, unhappy poet sleeping under a bridge, and his beautiful wife Candida begins to take care of him, doubts appear about his domestic bliss for the first time…

This new Swedish version of Candida opens on Jan 17 at Klarascenen. Tickets are already sold out until the end of March so get your hands on some ASAP!
