Tuss, a Stockholm based label is the minimalist’s answer to children’s clothes. As their slogan states, the label is “The ultimate simple solution” for parents who love the minimalist aesthetic, simple colours and clothes made from high quality materials. Tuss designs can be found in Snickarbacken 7.
Uni is a fantastic place for most people; for expectant parents who want to find baby clothes that stand out, for relatives who want to give cool presents and anyone who enjoys oohing and aahing over cute baby clothes. Uni offers unisex clothes in bright colours and playful patterns; all of which are unisex, so that children are not dressed according to gender differences. The clothes are made from organic and recycled materials and are toxin free, so the shop is both child and environmentally friendly. In Stockholm you can find Uni on Odengatan 102 or Åsögatan 130.
Started by Swedish illustrator, Cassandra Rhodin, Mini Rodini is a brand which focuses on children’s own creativity and imagination. The inspirations for her designs come from her own childhood: the blurred lines between imagination and reality. The circus has clearly been another source of inspiration, her own great-grandfather was the legendary circus king Brazil Jack. Mini Rodini designs are fashionable, creative and of great quality. The collections now include outerwear, denim, swimwear and accessories. With an abundance of playful patterns and illustrations, Mini Rodini really is a “tribute to all children, their imagination and their sense that everything is possible”.
Under is an absolute gem for any vintage lovers with kids. In the Södermalm store you can find a beautiful, handpicked mixture of vintage and unused 70’s clothes, puzzles, games and books. There is also the possibility to pick up some organic children’s clothes as well as new garments from a retro inspired, indie designer. If you want to make retro clothes for your little ones instead, then you can choose from a selection of vintage patterns to get you started. Their concept of reusing and recycling works perfectly; they are able to give life to beautiful clothes which might otherwise be forgotten.
Another great second hand find in Södermalm is Rackarungar, which stocks a great range of second hand clothes, up to date designs and children’s dress up and party clothes. Rackarungar also works directly with charitable organisations, and they have for example, contact with orphanages in Thailand and India. So when second hand clothes are not sold in the store, they find their way to a good home where they are needed. Nothing is wasted here.
