A quintessential US standup, Jim Gaffigan’s observations on the peculiarities of modern American life, particularly in regard to food, have made him a household name in the States, and in May he’ll be bringing his act to Sweden for the first time.

With a deadpan, mid-western delivery, Gaffigan’s favourite topics to riff on are undoubtedly his relationship with food and his unashamed laziness. Though he generally comes across as quite cuddly, Gaffigan is also known for the wonderfully disturbing little asides that regularly spin off from the more mainstream material. He even famously (though accidentally) predicted the creation of the Dunkin’ Donuts “Glazed Donut Breakfast Sandwich” during one routine on the absurdities of American fast food.

Gaffigan has also recently become an author, having published a book on the experience of being a father sharing a three-room Manhattan apartment with his wife and five children. Pretty likely then, that he’s going to find some common ground with those Stockholmers who are crammed into their one-and-a-half-room studios.
