Scandinavian Superjam 2013For over 10 years the National Theatre and Park Theatre have organised a collaborative dance event called the Scandinavian Superjam. Over the years the event has become an important stage for street dancers and their crews from around the world to perform. On August 15-16 the eleventh edition of the Scandinavian Superjam will take place at Vitabergsparken.

Among this year’s highlights performing at the event is the international break dancing crew Ill-Abilities, whose members suffer from various disabilities like deafness and amputation as well as diseases such as cancer.

For the event they will collaborate with Swedish break dancers, BBOY Invalido. The collectives aim is to show audiences that people can overcome the obstacles and challenges life deals them.

Additionally an All Style International Crew Battle, consisting of four crews from the U.S., Germany and Sweden, will also throw down during the event.

Superjam girlAudience members will even have the opportunity to get involved. During a dedicated section of the event called Power to the People audience members will have the opportunity to come up on stage and DJ.

The event is free and kicks off at 1700 on Thursday August 15 and Friday August 16 at Vitabergsparken in Stockholm. For more information click here.
