BLOOD CEREMONY (22:40)
Blood Ceremony converts fascination for horror into a musical vision. Their music has been described as flute seasonal witch-rock with lyrics full of black magic and classic horror movie references.
Many of their songs are characterized by singer Alia O’briens flute solos reminiscent of Jethro Tull’s Ian Anderson. The foundation lies in the heavier rock that breathes early 70s with touches of acid folk. Find inspiration in the band ranging from 60-70 century proggressive rock to ’80s doom metal. In the list of bands that have influenced Blood Ceremony you will find Black Sabbath, Uriah Heep, Osanna and Pentagram.
Blood Ceremony was formed in Toronto, Ohio, and released their self-titled album in 2008. They have previously toured with English Electric Wizard and support Swedish band Ghost on their tour of Europe and the United States. Second album Living With The Ancients was released in 2011 and in May 2013 came the third studio album The Eldritch Dark, which was recorded and mixed by producer Ian Blurton and mastered by Canadian legend Nick Blagona. The Eldritch Dark was a full-length paean to the darker corners of folklore. The album contains eight tracks of black magic, dark rituals and rock’n’roll.
SPIDERS (21:40)
Spiders from Gothenburg mixes garage/proto-punk and early hard rock with bluesy melodies. Since they released their debut album Flashpoint in October 2012, they toured Europe with Graveyard, toured on their own in Spain and Portugal, played at Sweden Rock, and were nominated at P3 Guld for this year’s rock category.
The evening is presented along with our favorites from Blood & Sword. They play discs before the gig and then move over to the Brooklyn Bar for the after party with you. Blood and Sword picking wax from hard rock catches, rattle the chains and let the medallions tjonga all night. Heavy metal is the law!
After Blood Ceremonys canceled gig at the Strand almost exactly two years ago, will finally get the rematch.
