Cult Luna was named the Year’s composers at the Manifest Awards on Feb. 7 – a prize that is appointed by the Swedish Independent Music Producers. It was the crowning glory after a successful year for one of Sweden’s most celebrated bands. In 2013 they released the album Vertical, which was lifted to the skies by critics and Cult of Luna toured worldwide and was described as “a magnificent live epic” (Gaffa) and “a powerful experience” (Västerbotten courier). All post-rock fans may now get an exclusive chance to see three of Sweden’s best bands in this genre Sunday evening. This weekend, Cult of Luna plays along with the Old Wind in Umeå on Saturday and April 27th in Stockholm the two bands will be joined by PG.Lost.
After several years of silence Umeå Collective Cult of Luna came back in 2013 with Vertical – one of the year’s most acclaimed albums . Newsweek called it “as close to the genre perfection as you can get” and the band was nominated for P3 Guld along with her their honor at the Manifest Awards.
After having played throughout the world in 2013, Cult of Luna now makes an exclusive stop in Sweden during their European tour. There will be two of the most exciting post rock bands in the house. Claes (former Klas) Ryberg , former lead singer of the CoL, will be part of the banquet.
THE OLD WIND (19:30)
Luleå’s band The Old Wind released their debut album Feast On Your Gone in 2013 and is composed of former members of the cult hardcore band Breach.
PG.LOST (18:30)
PG.Lost is a post rock band from Norrköping, who has released three albums so far. IN 2012, they released the acclaimed Key, which was called “one of the 2012 most interesting Swedish albums” (Gaffa).
