After the release of his third album, Buck, Daniel Norgren has now treaded into unfamiliar waters this year. His career has taken him on a long tour accompanied by a five-piece band, which is more than Norgren and his bass player Anders Grahn are used to. Norgren’s deep talent for unique guitar playing is what makes him such a treasure in the Swedish music industry. With influences from American blues, gospel and country music, Norgren has created his own genre of music and is roaring down that road all by himself. The album Buck is named after Norgren’s Volvo 940, which played an important part during the recording sessions of the album. Creeping aimlessly through small roads in the woods, Norgren stuffed his glove box with mixtapes and brought along portable recording equipment. He laid down tracks of the sounds of the forest and driving through the woods during nightfall. These were later used in creating a special atmosphere that characterizes the album.

His live performances in Sweden have been sparse, but all throughout November Norgren and his five-piece band are playing several Swedish and Norwegian cities, and tonight they are coming to Stockholm in one of our favorite venues, Södra Teatern.
