On the surface of things, Robag Whrume is the perfect choice to reinterpret the electronic pop excursions of former Postal Service member, Jimmy Tamborello. Both producers share a playful sense of melody that’s neither too subtle or too immediate. Whrume keeps it laid back here, turning Bright Night into a simmering slice of slow techno that’s perfect for summer larks in the park while Jitters becomes first glitching electropop and then a prime example of the warm minimal techno that is Whrume’s calling card. Nothing mind-blowing but immensely pleasurable.
