ICED EARTH (US)

Hailing from Tampa, Florida, Iced Earth was formed by guitarist Jon Schaffer and drummer Greg Seymour in the mid 80s.  Described by Schaffer as  “a metal band with momentum” the band’s sound draws comparisons with Slayer, Pink Floyd, and everything in between.  Starting with their debut in 1990, the they’ve released a dozen albums to date.

Though having changed vocalists more often than might be considered healthy for a band, Iced Earth seem to have found a strong replacement in Stu Block.  First heard on 2011’s Distopia, Block’s contribution has in no small way led to that album being considered among the band’s strongest record so far.

Currently promoting their Live DVD Live in Ancient Kourion, the band are on their longest ever tour and still finding time to record songs for their upcoming album.

WARBRINGER (US)

Formed in 2004, Thrash Metallers Warbringer consist of John Kevill, John Laux, Jeff Potts, Ben Mottsman and Carlos Cruz.  They’ve put out three albums so far, the latest of which, Worlds Torn Asunder, was released in 2011.

ELM STREET (AU)

Australian band Elm Street consists of Ben Batres, Aaron Adie, Tomislav Perkovic and Anthony Longordo. Their debut album ‘Barbed Wire Metal’ was released in 2011.
