365 days later, suddenly three years becomes four. Both Le Plus! and Festivalrykten.se turn four and this time we do it in the company of Nicole Sabouné. It’s no secret that this night will take us to the 80s with Bauhaus vibes in this January darkness. It smells like British towns and waft post-punk so our hearts automatically melt around Nicole’s rampage. This evening will mark the start of a big year for Sweden’s new rising star.
The hit singles Unseen Footage From A Forthcoming Funeral, Conquer or Suffer, I Surrender and the newly released Win This Life Nicole Saboune already created a name.
Nicole Sabounés music unites the stripped down new wave of the late 70’s with an evocative drive. The references are to early 80s post-punk and bands like Joy Division and Siouxsie and the Banshees. Rock icons David Bowie and Patti Smith have shaped Nicole’s expression.
The long awaited album Must Exist will be released January 15 and is produced by Lasse Mårtén (Lykke Li, Johnossi) at Decibel Studios in Stockholm. Ola Salo has contributed some songwriting as well.
