OSKAR LINNROS

Ever since the Swedish crowd was introduced to Oskar Linnros from Veronica Maggio’s second, critically acclaimed, album Och vinnaren är in 2008, the former Snook-member has been making his own music, deriving from the “upper-class hip-hop” he created together with Daniel Adams-Ray.

Linnros’ debut album Vilja Bli (2010) was a smash-hit and the single Från och med du became the plague-song of the summer. In 2013, Linnros second album, Klappar och slag, came out in the spring, and Linnros was once again stirring up the charts with his soul-inspired, yet utterly indefinable, pop music.

SEINABO SEY

The twenty-three year old Seinabo Sey released her single Younger in late 2013; a song that’s been two years in the making. It’s been remixed over and over again, and it’s particular sound blends in well in every remix I’ve listened to and I think that’s pretty magical. Either way you look at it, the song is such perfection that it cannot even be destroyed by weird, sweaty, underground remixes.

Running hot on Swedish radio, Younger has been on everyone’s mind since the day of its release. I hope the rest of Seinabo Sey’s debut album follows this valiant lead, which is scheduled for release during 2014.

The gig at Berns is special in a way that the supporting act is just as inspiring and exciting as the main act. Be sure to experience them both.
