Side Effects were formed in 2009, after they met at a high school in Stockholm. The band includes Billy Cervin (guitar, vocals), Hugo Mårtensson (drums, vocals), Elias Jungqvist (organ), and Joacim Nilsson (bass). The members had previously played in different configurations but finally found home with each other.
Side Effects’ music genre is most easily described as a form of psychedelic popular music with inspiration from both the 60’s and contemporary music scenes. Their major influences include Tame Impala, Dungen and TSOOL.
They recently released their debut album A Walk In The Space Between Us, with singles “Riverbank” and “The Space Between Us” that have attracted the attention of many rock fans. The band has already served as an opening act for The Soundtrack of Our Lives, Jake Bugg and Glasvegas.
Locals
Local’s heart lies behind a black door in Skanstull’s subway, on Södermalm. Concrete and plywood walls meet Portland, sunglasses and the melancholy Swedish cold. The band is the mastermind behind Stockholm’s new club sound – classic indie style meets an electronic dream world.
Mary & The Hookers
Seven lost souls found a path into the future on Stockholm’s plastered streets. Their style is neopsychedelisk garage based on massive reverb, fuzz and explosive droniga organ vibrations. If you crave decadence and can relate to black velvety ’60s revival, this is a perfect match for you. With Mary & The Hookers you can open minds and broaden Stockholm limits before the underground scene catapults into space.
The three will be a guaranteed triple threat to make for an amazing, interesting, and fun Saturday night out on the town. Don’t miss the unique but complimenting sounds of Side Effects, Locals, and Mary & The Hookers.
