Sjukstugan

Hip hop group Sjukstugan offers laid back, yet extraordinary well-made music with experimental beats, ambitious rap lines and recurring guest appearances by smooth singing Swedish artists. The staple song that will forever be associated with the time when Sjukstugan was introduced into the musical climate of Sweden, is definitely Zig Zag, straight off their debut album that arrived in the summer of 2012.

Inviting Stockholm rapper and producer Rickard “Skizz” Bizzi on the track, Zig Zag introduced Sjukstugan’s quirky style of hip hop, reminiscing hip hop groups like Stockholmssyndromet – a group Skizz was actually part of – with the video game influenced sounds appearing over the contagious beat.

Now, Sjukstugan have released an EP titled I Väntrummet – which directly translates to in the waiting room. A more than fitting name for this pre-album EP, teasing the fans for this summer’s upcoming second album from the Stockholm based group.

Sjukstugan are at Fasching on May 9.
