BOB HUND pressbild 2011

This spring, Cinemateket launched the ambitious concert/cinema series Sound of Silence, which pairs a contemporary Swedish band or musician with a silent film of years past. The first event featuring Dungen was such a huge hit that it went on tour, playing in other cities around the country, and this September will see indie favorites bob hund tackle The Man with the Moving Camera, a film that has long been a classic and was recently voted the best documentary of all time by the British Film Institute.

A prime example of the influential montage editing technique invented in Russia, Dziga Vertov’s urban symphony is also famous for its range of innovative film techniques, including slow motion, freeze frames, jump cuts, split screens, extreme close-ups, tracking shots, and stop-motion animations. This marriage of giants of music and cinema is sure to produce something that should not be missed.
