The Weekender Sep 29, 30, Oct 1 : Your Guide To Stockholm’s Weekend

GIG: PERO ÄLSKAR MUSIK

Teater Pero’s music nights return this weekend with another treble bill. Crying Day Care Choir‘s birdsong folk has made them a hotly tipped act, with a deal with Warner in the bag and almost a million plays racked up for their single Sad Season. They’re joined by Natalie Migdal and Anna Acro for a classical-pop treble bill.

GIG: MAKEOUT POINT/ SUMMER KID

Rising Finnish indie-pop band Cina Polada were set to play this, but had to pull out due to illness at the last. Boo illness etc. Luckily, Falun duo Summer Kid have been lined up as a replacement, and their dancey indie-pop is sure to have the floor bouncing. And fuzzwave band Makeout Point are still on the bill, and their dreamy shoegaze makes this show well worth the trip to Telefonplan.

PHOTOGRAPHY: CENTRUM FÖR FOTOGRAFI

Of course, you can go to Fotografiska to see great photography, but if you want to be a bit ahead of the curve it’s worth heading to Söder this weekend to check out Centrum För Fotografi’s new exhibition. Flykypunkt is a collection of new Swedish photography from students who completed a BA or MA in photography at Sweden’s art schools this spring, and it’s open until October 7.
