CLUBBING: STHLM MURDER GIRLS

Bla bla bla Popaganda bla bla bla.

Sthlm Murder Girls are playing at Trädgården this Friday, so any pangs of regrets felt on walking past Eriksdalsbadet will soon be eradicated once you get an earful of of that immersive, dark techno.

So far the duo comprising of Johanna Schneider and Philippa Pacho have gone from strength to strength. They’ve played at all the major floors in Sweden, and have quite a following in Berlin, having performed sets at about:blank, Chalet and Arena. Festival credits include Stockholm’s Yard Festival and Scandinavias biggest electronic music festival, Norbergfestival.

It’s music that – to quote Schneider in an interview with House Music With Love – is ‘dead serious but still easy to dance to.’

August 26 @ 22:00, Trädgården.

CLUBBING: SECRET CINEMA

It’s the penultimate event before everyone’s favourite industrial rooftop venue closes for the summer, and Slakthuset has pulled out all the stops. Dutch producer Jeroen Verheij, better know as Secret Cinema, is one of the best regarded techno producers and live acts in the business. You might recognize a couple of his wildly popular techno anthems such as Timeless Altitude, Sonar System, and Mary Go Wild.

And if that doesn’t draw you in, perhaps the fact that his 20 year career has seen him headlining several of the biggest festivals in the world will.

The accompanying line-up includes Andreas Andersson & Vincent Rydell (420 Group), Kenuna & Wolf (Tillsammans), and Jeff Cooper (420 Group).

August 26 @ 16:00, Slakthuset.

Karl Ove Knausgård has to be one of the most prolific writers of his generation. And the most popular, too: his autobiographical series of six novels has sold half a million copies in Norway alone, and has been published in 22 languages. Those who might’ve felt intimidated by the density of Knausgård’s writing now have the opportunity to access the phenomenon on stage at Stadsteatern.

The first run of the show in Stockholm in 2015 was such a hit that original director and producer Ole Anders Tandberg is on board for round two.

A subtitled performance will take place 7 September 18:00.

From August 26 @ Lilla Scenen.
