The Weekender Sep 8, 9, 10 : Your Guide To Stockholm’s Weekend

FESTIVAL: HEJFESTIVALEN

Föreningen Hej is, as the name implies, an organisation that tries to bring people together. It aims to create opportunities for new arrivals in Sweden and longtime Swedes, as well as people from different parts of the country, to meet through culture. And they’re putting that principal into practise this weekend with a day festival at the Clarion Skanstull. The programme includes DJs, food, language cafes, events for children, and live performances by Eritrean musicians Yonas Kidane and Miki, Afghan spoken word artist Mohammed Z, Stockholm indie band Steve Buscemi’s Dreamy Eyes and more. The full programme is available in the event, listed below.

CLUB: KLUBB VAKET

Techno club Vaket has a new home. They’re moving in at Götgatan 99, where they’ll be every Saturday from now on, and this Saturday marks their moving in party. The line-up includes Robert Park, Simon Walldén, Jessie Granqvist and V2V, and Dawid Dahl performs live.

FOOD: STHLM STREET FOOD

People really do love street food stuff these days, huh? This weekend is further proof of that, as Sthlm Street Food Festival comes to Kungsträdgården. There’ll be a Swedish food trucks championships competition between 09:00 and 12:00, and the Food Trucks will be around until 20:00, so there’ll be plenty of chances for those with curious appetites to sample food from around the world.
