Carrot juice with black pepper and ginger

Why:

After a long vacation with many late nights and an increased consumption of wine, anti-inflammatory carrot juice with black pepper and ginger is just what the doctor ordered. There are billions of good and bad bacteria in the gut, and the food you digest either feeds the former or the latter. This juice contains many powerful herbs and spices that will boost your immune system.

How:

Try the juice for Sunday breakfast, accompanied by a chia pudding with fresh berries and home-made banana scones. As juice, unlike a smoothie, doesn’t contain any fibre, we like to add a dose of synbiotic to it. This natural supplement consists of good, protective bacteria, as well as healthy fibre.

Where:

The ingredients for the juice are found at your local supermarket, and more information of the protective bacteria and fibre is found at synbiotics.se.

As told by Lina Nertby Aurell and Mia Clase, creators of Food Pharmacy, a blog dedicated to gut flora, bacteria and anti-inflammatory foods. The duo’s book Food Pharmacy is published by Bonnier Fakta and is in stores now.
