Lapka

Lapka

If you don’t already have enough on your plate, there is the Lapka to keep you occupied, or perhaps feed that bout of hypochondria of yours. Just plug in the Lapka to your smartphone and let it go to work. This little gadget collects, measures and analyzes the stuff that surrounds you, thus helping you to avoid any environment that could possibly be detrimental to your health. For instance, it will tell you the levels of radioactivity, determine whether or not that pricy organic apple is in fact free from pesticides or if the supposedly grass-fed New York striploin is or is not jammed with antibiotics.

No, Sweat!

NoSweat!

For all you desk jockeys out there, your final days of being nailed to your beloved but very stationary office desk are finally (or unfortunately) over. Canadian medical student-come-designer Darryl Agawin has masterminded a witty but functional way of eliminating any excuse not to move that butt during your workday. His No, Sweat! desk is a three-piece, fully functional office furniture that converts into a miniature gym for body resistance training. It’ll even fit in your own cubicle. Remember: a quick workout a day keeps the doctor away.

Up

UpJawbone

Let’s face it; there is no way we are going to be left alone to lead our own lives the way we see fit. San Francisco-based Jawbone has brought us yet another device to make sure that we move around more, eat less, monitor the way we sleep (but likely fail to ameliorate any underlying problems) and more. Nevertheless, Up is a cool gadget in the shape of a bracelet that links to your smartphone and let’s you know if you are doing things right regarding your health. Jawbone has recently launched Special Edition Orange Up in support of the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, an organization dedicated to helping kids develop healthy habits.
