Over the past few years Biblioteksgatan has gone through a proper re-profiling, and it seems like every new week brings a new luxury brand to the street. This autumn’s newcomers include Prada, Armani and Michael Kors, and now Peter Nordin, owner of Zink Grill and Prinsen, is giving the gastronomic side of the fashionable district a welcome vitamin injection.
Following a considerable facelift, Wienercaféet on Biblioteksgatan 4 re-opens with Daniel Lindeberg, who left the hugely successful Frantzén/Lindeberg earlier this year, at the helm.
The classic Stockholm café, originally opened in 1904 by an Austrian pastry chef, will be a patisserie in the Viennese-French tradition. Tarts, pastries, sandwiches and crêpes will be served, but you will also be able to pop in for a glass of wine or champagne. Nordin also promises that freshly-baked bread will be available all day long – not just in the morning.
