Having progressed from the critically heralded soundscapes of the moment-defining post-dubstep effort Crooks & Lovers, London electro duo Mount Kimbie made the gentle transition towards slightly more traditional songwriting structures for the follow up Cold Spring Fault Less Youth. The result, an equally universally lauded album that captures the best elements from modern music of today and proves they’re less flash in the pan than the ”post-dubstep” moniker.

Their ability to hit the right notes at the very right time is further enhanced by the inclusion of the street poet of the day Archie Marshall aka King Krule on a couple of stand-out tracks.

On stage they are said to include live instruments that should add another dimension to it, but sadly James Blake is no longer part of their live band.

Mount Kimbie is at Debaster Strand on 23 November.
