Speak Truth to Power

Posted October 29, 2012 in Arts

Speak Truth to Power began as a book written by human rights activist Kerry Kennedy which included portraits of human rights defenders by Pulitzer prize-winning photographer Eddie Adams.

Now a photography exhibition, Speak Truth to Power presents these portraits as a way of examining human rights issues around the world: from nuclear disarmament and sex slavery to religious self-determination and environmental activism.

Some of the defenders, like Desmond Tutu and the Dalai Lama, are familiar; yet the majority are unknown outside their nation’s borders. This exhibition celebrates the lives of extraordinary people struggling to create a peaceful and more just world.

Showing at Fotografiska until November 25. More info here.
