The Stockholm nightclub scene might have suffered from residential build-up and a new trend of ‘not-in-my-back-yard’-ism that have served to maintain strict licensing laws around the city centre. One solution is to move the scene to the outskirts, and it’s this solution that Nobelberget hope will work for them. They’ve opened up an enormous new concert and entertainment venue in Sickla that will eventually have the capacity to host up to 3,000 revellers. The venue is open every Friday and Saturday from 22-03, when it will be home to two club nights – LGBTQ club Venus in the venue’s cellar and Garaget. Nobelberget will host performances by some of Sweden’s biggest artists (Mapei and Goat, among others, dropped by for the opening night) as well as some of Stockholm’s best DJs. And also worth keeping an eye on in the upcoming months is their Christmas Day party on Dec 25. For more info, read our interview with Nobelberget’s Joel Ighe in this issue’s clubbing section.
