Artek is relaunching a series of designs from its archives under the title “abc collection”. The collection consists of some 20 objects, intended to serve the small needs of everyday life and please the eye.
That is definitely the case with this serving bowl and candle holder from Finnish design master Tapio Wirkkala, both made in steel and designed in 1953-1954 and 1970, respectively. Wirkkala used the bowl to keep his pipe in it, but it’s also good for serving snacks like olives.
