GIG: ADAM CHIA AND RABBII

So compiling a gig highlight this week is slightly overshadowed by the monster music fest happening at Way Out West. But if you’re not lucky enough to be going then don’t worry, because not every part of the music industry is going to Gothenburg this week and there’s still plenty of cool stuff happening in Stockholm. For example, Adam Chia and RABBII at Boulebar Rålambshov on Saturday. Adam Chia recently released ‘Det Bästa’, a slice of simmering electronic soul, and RABBII’s high-intensity synth-dance has been on our stereos since we tipped them as a artist to watch last year. Catch them both, doors open at 20.

Well, this was inevitable. Ever since Pokemon Go took over the city (and world) a couple of weeks ago and meant that you never had to wonder why someone was so absorbed in their phone ever again, we’ve had a number of Pokemon themed events popping up here and there. And now we have the Pokemon club night. Debaser gets invaded by pocket monsters on Friday for an evening of house, indie, and of course, all the music from Pokemon.

There are few people in film more iconic than Greta Garbo, and Fotografiska’s new exhibition, ‘The Image Of Garbo’ (Bilden av Garbo), uses photographs to chart her journey from Stockholm to world star. Garbo’s films Anna Christie, Mata Hari and Anna Karenina will also be shown in association with the exhibition.

On display until Aug 21, Fotografiska.
