Life can be tough for vegetarians and vegans. Restaurant options are often tucked away in the dusty corners of the menu and sometimes just consist of “you can have that and we’ll take the meat out”. Barbeque fare is usually replacement burgers or hotdogs made from a combination of soya and ‘don’t ask’. But there’s one place you can go and feel properly valued, and that’s Stockholm’s veggie fair Vegomässan. The tenth edition will take place this year at Nackastrandsmässan and will bring all corners of the veggie vegan world together. Arranged by the animal rights organisation Djurrättsalliansen, it will feature a wealth of different food stalls and talks on veggie-vegan eating and animal rights and welfare. Bubs Godis, a company that makes gelatine-free and vegan friendly sweets, Green Laces, who make vegan footware, and the vegetarian restaurant Hermans are amongst the many who will have stalls this year. There will also be a vegan café with some of Sweden’s best vegan-bakers on site. Adult tickets for the one-day event cost 120kr and children under 12 go free.
