It’s with some irony that the latest group exhibition at Bonniers Konsthall, Insomnia, opens as Stockholm starts getting dark again.
Bonniers has brought together a host of contemporary artists to explore the mental state of sleeplessness, and how it’s presented as a cultural symptom. Expect work from the likes of Carsten Höller, Katarina Löfström, Tamara Henderson & Julia Feyrer, Kate Cooper, Leif Elggren and Rafaël Rozendaal.
Running alongside Insomnia is a parallel exhibition containing a selection of historical works titled Passages Between Sleep and Wakefulness.
There’ll be a series of lectures accompanying Insomnia during its run. And, in collaboration with Art & Theory Publishing, a publication of the same name will be published on the occasion of the exhibition. Key texts related to insomnia will feature in its pages.
Insomnia – Group exhibition and anthology at Bonniers Konsthall, on display until Jan 22.
