Document Life At Tempo Festival

Posted March 6, 2017 in Arts

The days of documentaries just being televisual filler are long gone. Since Michael Moore’s Fahrenheit 9/11 won the Palme D’Or in Cannes in 2004, the documentary world has been on an incredible upward trajectory. Nowadays we’ve come to realise that there’s not much that can grip our attention quite like these authentic dramas. Sometimes the filmmakers want to push their agenda, at other times it’s just plain edutainment. In any case, Tempo Documentary Festival is a week-long celebration of documentaries that has evolved into an important part of Stockholm’s cultural calendar.

This year’s festival lineup is comprised of over 100 creative documentaries from all corners of the globe, as well as photo exhibitions, audio docs, seminars and masterclasses plus competitions and parties. The main theme for this 18th edition of Tempo is “(un)truth”, a theme with a natural connection to the documentary world.
