Remember NONONO? The trio (vocalist Stina Wäppling and producers Astma & Rocwell) went stratospheric back in 2013 when their single Pumpin Blood became a whopping hit, currently sitting at a touch under 65 million Spotify plays. A debut album, We Are Only What We Feel, followed in 2014, but since then the group has gone quiet. But they’re back today with a new single, Masterpiece.

A return for NONONO was always going to be interesting, seeing as the chirpy EDM sound they specialised in on their debut album has fallen out of style and slipped out of the charts in the time they’ve been away. Luckily for them, Masterpiece showcases their ability to move on. It relies on groove for its dance-ability, and comes packed with smooth rhythm that freshens the band’s sound up for 2017. Wäppling says: ” I wrote Masterpiece in bright sunlight, walking home from a friend in Stockholm. As the lyrics took form I imagined people starting to march after me and I got really excited by the feeling that the song was mirroring the rhythm of the city perfectly. Masterpiece is about socially constructed reality and the feeling of empowerment when you feel in charge of your own reality” Listen below.
