The Pistonhead Foundation Tour series of concerts is back this winter, and on Wednesday they’ve pulled together two bands diverse in style, but equally hotly-tipped. Hannes Ferm’s project HOLY returned with new music for the first time in two and a half years in September, with the single ‘Premonition / ◯ / It Shines Through’ marking his move from a more direct, garage-rock style to expansive, flowing neo-psych rock.
Joining HOLY on the bill are Stockholm’s new guitar-pop champions VERO, (Julia Boman, Clara Gyökeres and Amanda Eddestål), who’ve dabbled across different genres on their three singles to date (one of which, ‘Virtue’, we profiled here) but generally specialise in 80s-influenced, new wave guitar pop with little echoes of Lodger/ Scary Monsters-era David Bowie and Blondie. Entry is free and doors open at 19:00.
