Something turned into a thing

The exhibition Something turned into a thing at Magasin 3 is one which is based on the basic properties of chosen materials.  In the exhibition these materials are used to question how we perceive them, both by our senses and our intellect.  The artists take a range of materials, remove them from their usual areas of usage, and open them to a new range of interpretation.

The materials in the exhibition include car parts, toothpaste and sewage pipes to create unique sculptures and paintings.  Janine Antoni, John Chamberlain, Wim Delvoye, Tom Friedman, Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Denise Grünstein, Sol LeWitt, Agnes Martin, James Turrell, Lawrence Weiner, Rémy Zaugg are the artists which feature in Something turned into a thing.  The exhibition will run until the 9 December and again from 8 February until 2 June 2013.
