Throughout Stockholm, there are a number of trendy venues where you can dance the night away, dine on delicious cuisine and meet with your friends. Recently, casinos have become increasingly popular among both locals and tourists so we thought we’d give anyone looking to have the best casino experiences in Stockholm all the advice they need.

How to Prepare

Visiting a casino can be a somewhat nerve-wracking experience, especially if you’ve never been to one before. Still, there’s nothing to worry about if you take a little time to prepare for your evening. First things first, make sure you have a friend or even a group to attend the casino with, as it is sure to be more fun if you have companions to share the night out with.

Next, you’ll want to do your research, both on venues and on the games you think you’ll be playing. Venue-wise, we’ve got you covered in the next part, but when it comes to games it’s all up to you. If you have no idea and can’t tell the difference between a slot machine and a table game, it’s time to get on the web. There are a number of online casinos where you can find a variety of casino games that will no doubt also be in whichever venue you choose to visit. Sites such as Swedish casino Sverige Automaten even have live dealer games where you can practise with a real, professional croupier. By getting a bit of practice in, you’re sure to impress when you visit the real casino.

There are a few casinos to visit around Stockholm, but by far the most popular is Casino Cosmopol. Situated just north of Stockholm City Station on Kungsgatan, Casino Cosmopol has everything anyone could possible want from a casino experience. There are 412 slot machines, all with varying themes and stake levels, in addition to a large number of table games. These include multiple versions of blackjack and poker, Punto Banco, Sic Bo and High Card Flush. Each of these table games can be played by anyone, though there are tables specifically reserved for both beginners and professionals.

In addition to all these games, there’s also the Jackpot Bar & Grill where players can take a break to dine and drink with friends. Each chef is extremely experienced, offering everything from simple dishes to three-course meals. You may need to make reservations to dine at the restaurant, particularly if you choose an evening that features live entertainment. There are often musicians, dancers, stand-up comedians and casino professionals at Casino Cosmopol, so it’s always worth planning your night there well in advance.

What to Wear

As casinos are entertainment hubs, you can probably wear an outfit that you would wear on any other night out. That said, most casinos do have some rules regarding attire, for example, security may ask you to remove sunglasses or baseball caps for safety reasons. Other than that, the decision is all yours.

For ladies, you may want to consider a red or glittery dress, to really create that femme fatale look seen in many James Bond movies. Alternatively, if you prefer a comfier outfit, then a nice pair of trousers or jeans coupled with a casual-formal top is sure to serve you well. Add some jewellery to your outfit and you’ll fit right in.

As for the men, you can never go wrong with a shirt and blazer especially since wearing nice attire can boost your confidence. Like the ladies though, there’s no reason you can’t wear a pair of nice trousers or jeans, as long as you look somewhat presentable there’s no reason you won’t have a great night.

Of course, once you arrive at your casino of choice what you’re wearing will become a complete afterthought. Casinos are incredibly fun, with so much to offer chances are you’ll end up forgetting about everything outside. So get in a little bit of practice, call your friends and get to the casino for the night of your life.
