Frida Sundemo Weekend

GIG: FRIDA SUNDEMO
Frida Sundemo marked herself out from the crowd on her debut album Flashbacks & Futures with her delicate and intricate take on modern electronic pop. That record was released in late 2017, and she’s now taking it out on the road. She performs at Kulturhuset Stadsteatern’s Studion on Saturday.

ELECTRONICA: P2 ART’S BIRTHDAY PARTY
Look, no-one actually has any idea when ‘Art’ was born, and if you want to be really snooty you can always say it hasn’t been born yet. But on Jan 17 1963 artist Robert Filliou declared that art had begun one million years before, and that seems as good a day as any. That became Art’s Birthday, with P2 celebrated with a pan-European broadcast on Jan 17. And now they’re putting on an extra party at Södra Teatern with a huge range of electronic musicians and DJs. Entrance is free, but you need to get there early to get in.

GIG: VANESSA HAYNES
Vanessa Haynes and her voice have been a big presence inside the British soul scene for quite a while, having worked with the likes of Van Morrison, Chaka Khan, Incognito and Billy Ocean, but it was only last year she released her first solo album. That album sent her on tour, and that tour concludes this weekend at Fasching, where she’ll be playing songs from her new album and some of the classics.

THEATRE: TOTAL FRÄSCHHET
If you want to put in an order for creativity, you can contract Konstab. The culture group (name taken from Konst-AB, which translates to Art Company) consists of Gothenburg’s Anton Hellström, Ossian Melin and Filip Aladdin, a gang of childhood friends who have dabbled in everything from music videos to Instagram entertainment. In 2017 they put on the performance Total Trygghet at Teater Brunnsgatan Fyra, a high-energy theatre show that became one of the year’s successes. Now they’re back with part two of what will eventually become a trilogy of shows. Total Fräschhet, a manic humour and theatre performance, fuelled by whatever is buzzing in the trio’s heads at the time of writing, is playing until the end of February, and it plays all this weekend.

Feb 2, 3, 4, Teater Brunnsgatan

FOOD & DRINK: STHLM WINE WEEKEND
The amount of events surrounding craft beer seems to be ever-increasing. But what about something for the wine fans? Those wine fans are getting their own thing this February, when importers Vinovativa and Fondberg host the Sthlm Wine Weekend. The Wine Weekend, which is exactly what the title makes it very clear it is, is the chance for you to try wines from all over the world, and even chat to the people who make it, as exhibitors will be on hand to explain the nuances and ins and outs of their vino. So put on your best “hmm, interesting flavour” tasting expression and get down to Fotografiska in February.

Feb 3-4, Fotografiska
